Jesus Today Devotions for Kids by Sarah Young Review and {GIVEAWAY} #JesusTodayKids

Our Everyday Harvest readers may remember several of my previous posts where I reviewed both Jesus Calling: 365 Devotions for Kids and Jesus Calling for Little Ones. I'm very happy to announce that author, Sarah Young, is back with another literary masterpiece for kids! Based on her ECPA 2013 Christian Book of the Year-winner, Jesus Today, Young has created a new version made especially for children, Jesus Today: Devotions for Kids.

ABOUT THE BOOK:
Jesus is the Friend who is always with you. Jesus Today: Devotions for Kids will pour this powerful truth into your children's hearts as they learn that He knows everything about them and loves them more than they can imagine. Each devotion is based on Scripture and is written as though Jesus is speaking directly to you, assuring that He is in control, that He is good, and that an amazing future awaits all who put their hope in Him. Adapted from the ECPA 2013 Christian Book of the Year-winner Jesus Today, this devotional has the same themes as the adult version, as well as written-out scriptures. It is a great choice for families to read and discuss during devotional time together

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Sarah Young's devotional writings are personal reflections from her daily quiet time of Bible reading, praying and writing in prayer journals. With sales of more than 14 million books worldwide, Jesus Calling has appeared on all major bestseller lists. Sarah's writings include Jesus Calling, Jesus Today, Jesus Lives, Dear Jesus, Jesus Calling for Little Ones, Jesus Calling Bible Storybook, Jesus Calling: 365 Devotions for Kids, and Peace in His Presence -- each encouraging readers in their journey toward intimacy with Christ. Sarah and her husband were missionaries in Japan and Australia for many years. They currently live in the United States

I really enjoy the author's signature style of writing. Jesus Today: Devotions for Kids follows the same concept as Jesus Calling: 365 Devotions for Kids, in that it is written as if Jesus is speaking directly to your child. Each devotion offers wisdom and inspiration for children. Even as an adult, I found myself encouraged and inspired as I read this book. We have been developing a very nice library collection of Young's works in our home, and I have to say that she has such a gift for relaying God's message to both adults and little ones alike.

The physical book, itself, has a very nice design that follows suit with it's predecessor, Jesus Calling. Both covers have the adorable picture of a bird and a fun antique/weathered look. The book is also fully equipped with a ribbon bookmark, so children can remember their place while reading, as well as a Scripture Index in the back for easy reference.

Each devotion in Jesus Today: Devotions for Kids doesn't necessarily follow a calendar/date set up – instead they are numbered 1 through 150. In each two-page spread, you'll find a themed title such as Peace and Thankfulness or Watch and See, followed by a sweet devotion written as if Jesus were telling it, Himself. On the adjacent page you'll also find several scripture verses that correspond to that devotion.

I really enjoy reading Jesus Today: Devotions for Kids to my son. Even through there are no pictures inside (since this a book made for older children), he still seems so intrigued and attentive whenever we read it together. I know that he'll enjoy reading this to himself when he gets a little bit older, and that it'll offer him a lot of encouragement when he does.

I'm also very pleased to announce that one Our Everyday Harvest reader is going to receive their very own copy of Jesus Today: Devotions for Kids, so that they can share it with the children in their life.
