A Believe Devotional for Kids: Think, Act, Be Like Jesus by Randy Frazee

In the past, I've had the wonderful privilege of reading several books in Randy Frazee's popular Think, Act, Be Like Jesus series. Since then, I've become such a fan of his work, so it's quite exciting to see that he's actually added a new book to the series. The most recent addition to my son's Randy Frazee collection is the new Think, Act, Be Like Jesus children's devotional.

ABOUT THIS DEVOTIONAL:
This 90-Day devotional, written by Oak Hills Church pastor Randy Frazee, is part of the church-wide Believe campaign and encourages children to follow the footsteps of Jesus. Think, Act, Be Like Jesus; A Believe Devotional for Kids shares the message that the more you believe, the more Jesus can change you from the inside out to become the best person you can be.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Randy Frazee is the senior minister at Oak Hills Church in San Antonio, Texas. Oak Hills is one of the largest churches in America, where Randy teaches and leads in partnership with pastor and author Max Lucado. A leader and innovator in spiritual formation and biblical community, Randy is the architect of The Story church engagement campaign. He is the author of The Heart of The Story, The Connecting Church 2.0, The Christian Life Profile Assessment.. He also coauthored Real Simplicity with his wife Rozanne.

The physical book is a sturdy hardcover with vibrant imagery throughout. The inside pages contain beautiful painted illustrations with soft, delicate strokes. As with all of the books in Randy Frazee's Think, Act, Be Like Jesus series, the main goal is to bring the reader to Jesus by inspiring them to "think, act, and be" like Him. The Think, Act, Be Like Jesus devotional book is created for children ages six through ten. It contains ninety devotions divided into three separate sections, Think, Act, and Be. In those three sections, are subsections to highlight a variety of themes and/or virtues.

FOR EXAMPLE:

The Think section includes themes such as Identity in Christ, Humanity, Compassion.

The Act section includes themes such as Prayer, Bible Study, and Spiritual Gifts.

The Be section includes themes referring to Self-Control, Patience, Love, and Humility.

The author has even included a handy table of contents to help guide readers to the many different sections, including references to their corresponding Bible scripture verses. Each devotion in the book starts off with a scripture verse, followed by the main devotion/thought of the day, and finishes off with a short and sweet prayer. The devotions are laid out on an easy to read two-page spread.

One of the other neat aspects of this particular devotional is that you can also pair it with the Believe Kids Edition, which is a storybook version of the Think, Act, Be Like Jesus series. This makes for the ultimate children's Bible study experience, since the themes match up perfectly between both books. Plus, the Believe Kids Edition actually offers multiple discussion questions at the end of each chapter, making it great for homeschooling or other Bible study classes.

The Think, Act, Be Like Jesus devotional book is a wonderful literary companion for any child who wants to learn how to walk in Jesus' footsteps. The book offers fundamental advice and inspiration, so little ones can get on their way to being a little more like Jesus each and every day. If you aren't already familiar with Randy Frazee's Think, Act, Be series, but are looking for some solid Bible study tools for your child (and for yourself, since he also makes a version made specifically for adults), then I highly recommend his books.

This looks like a good book that would inspire great discussions with my son. He's interested in learning more about getting baptized so this book would help him learn more about the Bible first. Thanks for the review.
