Little Love Letters from God {Children's Board Book} by Glenys Nellist #BlogTour Review and GIVEAWAY

When I was a little girl, I loved the idea of getting mail. I had even created a pretend mailbox in my room, where my father would leave me "mail" every morning. It was always so much fun to read what he had written–those little notes really did brighten each day!

What could be better than receiving sentimental notes from your parents every day? How about receiving them from God? Thanks to author, Glenys Nellist, children can actually experience the very joy of receiving special messages from the Lord, all compiled in a sweet board book called Little Love Letters from God.

ABOUT THE BOOK:
What child does not love to receive mail? What if that child could receive, open and read his or her own personal mail from God? The Little Love Letters from God board book will invite them to do just that! Accompanying each of the eight stories in this unique children’s Bible is a very special and encouraging letter tucked away in its own lift-the-flap envelope. With a padded cover for little hands, Little Love Letters from God introduces children to God’s Word with eight of the most popular Bible stories—including creation, Noah’s ark, the birth of Jesus and more. Following each story the child will find his or her own letter from God. Children will love the excitement of opening the letters and parents will love how each letter elaborates on the Bible story being told. A very special Bible verse, entitled God’s Wonderful Words To You will accompany each story and letter. Much more than a mere memory verse, each carefully chosen promise will be God’s very own personal words of love, encouragement, and hope.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Glenys Nellist was born and raised in a little village in northern England. Her stories and poems have been published in children’s magazines where her writing reflects a deep passion for bringing the Bible to life for young children. Glenys lives in Grand Rapids, Michigan, with her husband, David.

ABOUT THE ILLUSTRATOR:
Sophie Allsopp grew up in a small English village and Hong Kong, where she particularly enjoyed living in a hotel and going to school on a tram. After studying for her illustration degree, Sophie won several awards and has now been illustrating for over 20 years. She lives in England with her husband, son, and a cat called Sadie.

God is always speaking to us. Just flip through the Bible, and you'll find sweet messages of His love throughout. Of course beautiful books like Little Love Letters from God can offer children a fun way to read and embrace the word of God through Bible stories, scripture verses, and a personal note just for them. As children turn each page, they'll find a significant story from the Bible written in a style that is perfect for them to follow along to. On each adjacent page they'll also find a small scripture verse that correspondences with the story. Of course, the book wouldn't be complete without those love letters. This part of the book is always the highlight for my son whenever he flips through it. After reading a short Bible story and scripture verse, we then move on to a flap that reveals an extra special message just for him.

"I had so much fun making the world!
But do you know the very best thing I made?
It was you!"

The illustrations by Sophie Allsopp are full of beautiful vibrant colors. My son delights in pointing at all of the different pictures while naming what they are. Throughout the book, you'll find eight different Bible stories with a corresponding verse and a heartfelt "love letter" from the Lord. One of my favorite features of this book, is that you can actually personalize the letters with your child's name. There's a blank space in front of "Dear" so parents can write in the name of their little one. This gives children that extra special feeling that God has written these letters specifically for him or her.

With Valentine's Day just around the corner, this would make a wonderful holiday gift for little ones.  Complete with eight different Bible stories and sentimental notes, Little Love Letters from God is sure to make them feel cherished, not only on February 14th, but throughout the entire year. It may even inspire them to write their very own "little love letters" to God!

We love to leave notes in their lunch boxes... whether that be on a piece of paper, or the banana / orange itself, and sometimes on a snack baggie! We also have a white board that the messages get changed each day so it has become a habit to look for a new message each day!!!

Reading age-appropriate Christian books like this one is a great way to teach and discuss ways we can all act more like Christ. Always a good reminder for adults too!

Make them little homemade coloring books with sweet little poems under them that rhyme. Children love rhymes, such as God is good, God is great, through Jesus his son he can forgive our mistakes.
