Counting Blessings by Eileen Spinelli {Review + GIVEAWAY}

Pin It

It's so rewarding watching our little ones learn. I remember when my son first began counting–I was so overjoyed. As he grows, I also want to make sure that he can take those counting skills and use them to also add up the many blessings that God gives us day in and day out. Author, Eileen Spinelli, has recently released an endearing board book called Counting Blessings that helps remind children about those very same blessings.

ABOUT THE BOOK:
Children count along from 1 to 10, following the sweet rhyming text by beloved author Eileen Spinelli and the cute and cuddly illustrations by Lee Holland. Along with counting, this padded cover board book teaches children to see the blessings in life. With whimsy and joy, Counting Blessings captures the attention of young children, filling their minds with numbers and their hearts with happiness.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Eileen Spinelli is the author of many picture books and poetry collections, including A Big Boy Now, Hug a Bug, and the bestselling When Mama Comes Home Tonight, among others. When she writes a story, she has an instant audience: her twenty-five grandchildren and husband, Jerry (also a writer). Aside from story making, Eileen teaches creative writing and poetry. The Spinellis live in Media, Pennsylvania.

The illustrations are done by Lee Holland who also did Night Night, Mommy and Night Night, Daddy, which I recently reviewed a couple weeks ago. They are absolutely adorable and show a little bunny as he goes about his days being grateful for all that he has around him. I really like this book, because it offers an important message and learning experience for little ones that's all wrapped up in a short and sweet story. Whether it's five crackers to share or seven friends at the park, this little bunny has a lot to be thankful for. Young children will be reminded about all the blessings they can be thankful for in their everyday life. At the same time, they get to brush up on their counting skills as they add up those very same blessings.

If you have a little one who is just learning to count, this would make the perfect addition to their reading collection. Even if they already know how to count, reading Counting Blessings will offer a friendly reminder to take in the many blessings that surround us each and every day.

You can find Counting Blessings at most major book retailers, including Amazon. I am also happy to announce that I'm giving away a copy of Counting Blessings to one reader.

This book looks so cute! I love books about blessings for kids. The bunnies are so cute. My granddaughter loves books. She'll be 2 next month so Im instilling stories that have to do with faith and Jesus. I know she's still little but I know her little brain is like a sponge that soaks up everything. Her loving books makes us all so happy. Ive probably already told you that. Lol! Thank you for the chance and the sweet giveaway :)

You're welcome! :-)

You are so very right, Sue!! They soak so much up when they are that age. She's not too far from my son's age, so I know exactly what you mean. She would probably love this book!

I think not only children can resonate with this message but adults can take notes too! Conditioning children from an early age with this mentality will empower them so when they are adults they've built strong relationships.
