I wanted to share a new Bible board book that we've been reading called the Read with Me Bible for Little Ones. Complete with a soft padded hardcover, this one is perfect for toddlers and preschoolers who are just starting to learn the Bible and even older children who may take a liking to the cool artwork throughout.

ABOUT THE BOOK:
The Read with Me Bible for Little Ones is this perfect way to introduce the Bible to young children. Featuring simple language and vibrant, full-color illustrations by Dennis Jones, this action-packed padded cover board book is a great way to jump-start literacy and a love of the Bible.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Doris Wynbeek Rikkers is a freelance writer and editor who has written many bestselling children’s books and Bibles. Although she loves the ocean, she lives in Grand Rapids, Michigan, surrounded by her books, her flower gardens, and her family and friends.

ABOUT THE ILLUSTRATOR:
Dennis Jones loves to draw. His artwork can be seen in books, magazines, games, toys and Sunday school curriculum. He’s illustrated several children’s products including the Read with Me Bible and the NIrV Super Heroes Bible. Dennis lives in Indiana with his wife Karen and has two grown sons.

The Read with Me Bible for Little Ones contains eight popular Bible stories from the Old and New Testaments. Children will have the chance to read about David and Goliath, Noah, Johah, and Jesus. The text of each story is very simple, recounting each tale in a short and sweet manner. There's no actual scripture verses included, but before each story there is a notation to where it can be found in the Bible. For example, "Jesus Calms the Storm" is noted to be read in Matthew 8. The book, itself, does offer a more toned down recollection of the stories. For example, there is no mention of Jesus' crucifixion, but it does show him being resurrected after dying.

The illustrations done by Dennis Jones are the highlight of this book. They're colorful, fun, and sort of remind me of comic book characters with their exaggerated features (got to love those hairstyles!). My son really enjoys looking at all of the pictures throughout and I personally think they're pretty neat!

When it comes to children's books on faith and Christianity, it's nice to have an even mix of seriousness and fun in your collection. The Read with Me Bible for Little Ones offers children the chance to learn some of today's most talked about stories in the Bible, while pairing them up with exciting cartoon drawings that are a blast to look at.
