"God Bless America" Children's Board Book Review + GIVEAWAY #FourthofJuly

Independence Day is only about a month away. This is a time to celebrate our country and all that we are blessed with. A new series of children's board books has just been released called "A Land that I Love." As you may have guessed, these board books focus on the great ol' USA. So far only two individual states have been released, God Bless Florida and God Bless Texas. I'm actually anxious for them to create a New York and New Jersey version once day...fingers crossed! The third book in the A Land that I Love collection is God Bless America, which is one that we've personally been reading.

ABOUT THE BOOK:
The Land That I Love Book series will show little ones how God crafted the nation and each state for you and me. In God Bless America, children will enjoy learning about America’s landmarks and cities and how God made a wonderful place for us to live.

Rather than focusing on just one state, God Bless America, encompasses a few of the country's most noteworthy places and sights. The story revolves around a little bear named Henry. He's so excited, because he is going to experience the United States for the very first time. There's so much to see in such little time, but Henry is determined.

Throughout the story you'll follow him along as he visits places like Washington D.C. Mount Rushmore, and even the Everglades! The book offers a mini introduction to some of today's popular landmarks, coupled with an exciting tale of a little bear's vacation around the 50 states. Children will also delight in the illustrations done by Peter Francis, which are both fun and full of color. Of course at the end is a little reminder to thank God for the many blessings in our country.

God Bless America is a sweet book. Children will really enjoy tagging along with Henry as he visits the United States for the first time. I would have liked to see more landmarks and states included in this one, but I am thinking the original idea was to go short and sweet for young readers. All in all, the book is a nice way to celebrate the Forth of July holiday and a great read for pretty much any time of the year.

Now lets celebrate America's birthday with a fun giveaway! One winner is going to receive their very own copy of God Bless America to share with the little ones in their life!

The book looks adorable. I love that Henry is holding a flag on the cover illustration - our little guy just loves waving his little American flag!

You're very welcome! We are still in the process of updating each door in the house, but they are slowly coming along. We love how it brightens things up. :-)

How is the paint on the doorknobs holding up? I have the same paint at home and thinking of updating a few ratty knobs.

Kelly (Our Everyday Harvest) said...

Hi Mary! Believe it or not the door knobs are holding up really well. We ended up scratching one by accident with a screwdriver after trying to put it back on a door, so we had to respray it. The jar lids are beginning to get some superficial scratches, so we are going to have to retouch those again. Other than that, everything is doing pretty good.
