No matter the time of the day, God is always there looking after His children. Reading God Made the Sun and God Made the Moon is a fun way to let children know this. Both the sun and the moon are creations from Him and both books offer a sweet reminder to little ones that whether it is day or night, the light of the Lord is always shining down on us.

ABOUT THE BOOKS:
God Made the Sun: God Made the Sun is a celebration of God’s gift of daytime to the world. Beginning with the first rays of sunlight and moving through the day, this book reminds little ones that God’s love shines on us just as the sun shines on the earth. With its lyrical rhythm, sweet illustrations, and novelty die cut feature, the book will serve as a welcome reminder of God’s presence in our lives.

God Made the Moon: God Made the Moon is a celebration of God’s gift of nighttime to the world. Beginning with the first hints of dusk and ending with a bedtime prayer, this book reminds little ones that God’s love shines on us just as the moon shines on the earth. With its lyrical rhythm, sweet illustrations, and novelty die cut feature, the book will be a welcome addition to any child’s bedtime rituals.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Dr. Mary Manz Simon combines her training as an early childhood educator, insights as a corporate consultant and children's market analyst, and experiences as a mother and grandmother, to provide a wide range of services and presentations to audiences and companies. Her platform of practical advice, within a developmental framework, appeals to educators and parents who want real-time solutions. With sales of more than 3 million books in English, hundreds of magazine articles and media interviews, Simon is, in the words of her son, Matthew, "a world changer."

I've been a fan of Dr. Mary Manz's work since reading her First Virtues book for toddlers. She has a beautiful writing style that children just love. Every time I read one of her books to my son, he just sits there eagerly awaiting each word of the story. Both God Made the Sun and God Made the Moon are sold separately, but they are two books that go hand in hand. If you decide to get one, then I definitely recommend getting the other.

These sweet board books offer children a glimpse of the many blessings to enjoy as the sun rises and sets throughout each day. During the day a little boy enjoys the brightness of the day as spends time with his friends, plays peek-a-book with the clouds, and takes a splash in the pool. At night a little girl enjoys the glow of the moonlight as she watches lightning bugs blink on and off, listens to crickets chirp, and snuggles up for bedtime.

The physical books are perfect for even the youngest of children, since they do have thick, sturdy pages. The colorful illustrations by Lizzie Walkley are adorable, showing both children enjoying their time during the day and night. There is also a little extra creative touch added to both books. From the front cover to the back page of God Made the Sun there is a dye cut shape of the sun and one of the moon in God Made the Moon.

With sweet rhyming prose and precious illustrations, both books are a delight to read to my son. Each one offers a wonderful reminder of God's love and how he is watching over us both day and night.
