31 Men of the Bible: Who They Were and What We Can Learn from Them Today

Lately, I've been taking part in a study about many of the prominent female characters from Biblical history. Some folks make remember me recently sharing my thoughts on 31 Women of the Bible. I enjoyed it so much, I knew that I had to also give 31 Men of the Bible a look over, and I'm so glad I did! Both of these books have proven to be excellent study tools. They're not just a great resource for adults, but also for older children and teens as part of a Bible study plan.

ABOUT THE BOOK:
31 Men of the Bible features 31 profiles of important men in the Bible. Each profile includes the related scripture reference, character summary, and application questions to help the reader discover who these men were and what we can learn from them today. Featuring a full-color interior with illustrations on every page and a unique concise format, this book can be used for daily study or carried in a briefcase or backpack for reading on the go.

This compact hardcover book includes in-depth profiles of thirty-one important male figures who lived during Biblical times. It is set up exactly like 31 Women of the Bible, complete with gorgeous full-color illustrations and photography to offer a full visual experience as you learn about each person. Every profile begins with a scripture verse that relates to the character being discussed. I especially like that each character's story is conveyed in way that's up-to-date and easy to take in.

The steps of a man are established by the Lord, when he delights in his way. – Psalm 37:23

After studying the life of each person, I can then move on to the included life application questions, also known as the "Food for Thought" section. This area allows readers to expand their studies and develop a greater understanding of each individual being discussed. I also really enjoy 'The Takeaway" sections, which come up right after each profile, but before the "Food for Thought" questions. This area includes one to two short paragraphs that offer a moment of reflection, connecting what was just read with our own everyday walk with God. "The Takeaway" sections definitely add to the overall reading experience, and may even make you rethink your original thoughts on each person.

If you're looking for a detailed, yet concise way to study some of the more noteworthy individuals in the Bible, then I definitely recommend picking up both 31 Men of the Bible and 31 Women of the Bible.

I do remember your review of 31 women of the Bible. This book looks like another great one for me, or even my husband or older son to look at. It will show them some great examples of Godly men. Thanks for the review.
