Eggcellent Easter Book GIVEAWAY #Zonderkidz

Can you believe that we are heading towards the end of March, already?! Time is sure flying by and Easter will be here before we know it. I've also been coming up with various goodies to fill my son's Easter basket this season. I usually like to include all kinds of trinkets, and make sure to never forget to add a few new books for him to enjoy.

Zonderkidz has several new releases just in time for the Easter holiday. From beautiful picture books that share the meaning of Easter to fun Bible activity books, these would make a great addition to any child's Easter basket this season.

The Berenstain Bears Easter Fun Sticker and Activity Book

The Berenstain Bears come to life with puzzles, activity pages, and reusable stickers in the newest Berenstain Bears sticker and activity book The Berenstain Bears Easter Fun Sticker and Activity Book. Celebrate Easter and the joy and fun of springtime with the Bear family and their Bear Country friends and neighbors.

I wanted to start off with a fun one from our favorite Bear Family, The Berenstains. I am such a fan of these activities books. Not only do they offer full color illustrations throughout, but there are a ton of fun activities that kids can enjoy. The Berenstain Bears Easter Fun Sticker and Activity Book offers 50 reusable stickers to help children complete certain activities in the book. Inside you'll find coloring pages, mazes, word puzzles, matching games and a bunch of other great tasks to do. Of course, since this is titled, "Easter Fun," everything revolves around the holiday with several mentions of Jesus, including the Last Supper and His resurrection. This activity book was an excellent one to add to our own personal Berenstain Bears collection.

Children can now color to life more than sixty favorite Bible stories and characters from The Beginner’s Bible. After coloring, the pages can be displayed to encourage creativity and memory of the classic Bible stories.

The Beginner's Bible is another series that we personally enjoy. Not too long ago we were blessed with the The Beginner’s Bible, Holy Bible, so I was happy to see a new collection of books from the series being released. One of these is The Beginner's Bible Coloring Book. It includes tons of coloring fun and offers pages depicting Bible stories from Genesis all the way up to Jesus' resurrection. Some of the pages are really neat and are perfect to display when kids are done coloring them. My son is a fan of the unique artwork that shows many of the characters with large, exaggerated eyes and cheerful, smiling faces. While not Easter themed, this coloring book would definitely make a great Easter basket stuffer that children will enjoy.

This activity book provides young children with mazes, connect-the-dots, word puzzles, matching games, and more, all using beloved characters and stories from The Beginner’s Bible.

If you are thinking about picking up The Beginner's Bible Coloring Book, then you may want to also consider getting The Beginner's Bible Activity Book, because they are a great pair to have. This is actually our favorite of the two, because it offers a lot of fantastic learning tasks for children of all ages. Some of the activities include crossword puzzles, drawing, coloring, and match-ups. I noticed that there is a real emphasis on math (counting, puzzles, addition, etc.) and teaching children how to write (there are plenty of tracing games included). I particularly liked this aspect of the book the best. While I've found similar activities in other books of its kind, I also found some that were quite unique. I'm always looking for new learning opportunities for my son, and this book definitely comes in handy for that. Like the coloring book, The Beginner's Bible Activity Book isn't solely based on Easter. Having said that, it would still make a great gift for the holiday, given its Biblical theme. There are also several activities involving Jesus' crucifixion and resurrection, which fit right into the true meaning of the holiday.

This newly illustrated edition of The Legend of the Sand Dollar renews the wonder and charm of the timeless tale that explores the hidden meaning of Easter within the sand dollar. Written by Chris Auer with vibrant artwork from Bad Dog, Marley illustrator, Richard Cowdrey, this holiday classic comes to life for a new generation.

I saved this one for last, because it was one of our favorites (although we're greatly enjoying each of the others). Unlike the three books above, this once doesn't include coloring, activities, or brain teasers. Instead it's a stunning picture storybook that actually tells of the Biblical meaning behind the sand dollar. I have to say that I wasn't originally familiar with the legend or its significance with Easter. I always thought of a sand dollar as just the beautiful leftover shell remains of a sea creature. The Legend of the Sand Dollar tells the tale of how Jesus' birth, death, and resurrection are tied in with the actual make up of a sand dollar. If you aren't too familiar with the whole legend, then reading this book will offer a nice reveal, so I won't give too much, away.

There's a pretty little legend
That I would like to tell
Of the birth and death of Jesus
Found in this lowly shell.

The artwork throughout the book is gorgeous. In fact, when we first opened it and turned through the pages, I couldn't help notice that the illustrations reminded me of those from The Legend of the Easter Robin (another must for your child's Easter book collection). It then dawned on me that both books were illustrated by Richard Cowdrey. Now it made total sense, because his work has a very unique quality about it that I'm personally fond of. This is a really beautiful book and definitely one that would make a wonderful Easter gift.

Easter will be here before we know it, and each one of these books would make a wonderful gift for the holiday. Our Everyday Harvest and Zonderkidz would also love to give readers a chance to win!

One winner will be chosen to receive their choice of one book from the four mentioned above. (The winner can choose between The Berenstain Bears Easter Fun Sticker and Activity Book, The Beginner's Bible Coloring Book, The Beginner's Bible Activity Book, or The Legend of the Sand Dollar.)
