Fixing Our Eyes on Jesus

I hope everyone had a blessed Easter holiday. What a beautiful celebration of the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ!

Sometimes it's easy to become distracted by everyday occurrences in our lives. After all, we're only human. Believe me, I am guilty of this from time to time. However, when our thoughts are totally fixed on the world, how can they be fixed on Jesus?  Hebrews 12: 1-2 reminds us to always keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, so that we can receive the glorious gift of salvation and an eternity in Heaven, given to us by our Father.

Our Pastor talked about that very thing just last week. We're in a series about being happy and he mentioned that it's hard to be happy if we're focused on our problems instead of Jesus. I really like that verse also. I used to be a runner, so verses that have running in them, appeal to me.

What your pastor said is so true. It's easy to get wrapped up in worldly thoughts and worries. This verse is such a nice reminder on what we really need to do.
