My Bible Adventure Through God's Word: 52 Bible Stories for Kids

In helping little ones learn how to develop a close relationship with God, it's important to introduce them to the many stories throughout Biblical history. Reading about the lives of those who lived and followed the Lord can help children, especially younger ones, understand why it is so important to obey God and what can happen when we do (or if we don't). Our latest read, My Bible Adventure Through God's Word is sort of like a Bible storybook and devotional all wrapped up into one. Inside you have 52 separate Bible stories all paraphrased in text that's easy to read and helps engage younger readers in learning about the Bible.

ABOUT THE BOOK:
Travel through God’s Word all year long! The greatest stories in the Bible come alive for kids in My Bible Adventure Through God’s Word. Watch your children develop a relationship with God while reading amazing stories of faith. Written by pastors, children’s ministers, and leaders who have a heart for helping children become lifelong believers, My Bible Adventure Through God’s Word is a perfect tool for introducing your children to weekly devotions.

My Bible Adventure Through God's Word is meant to be read as a week to week devotional with 52 weeks to cover an entire year, although we've been skipping around, reading more than required to get a better feel at what the book has to offer. This is a physical hardcover book with a colorful front cover show showing David slinging a stone. The book is not loaded with tons of illustrations inside, because the main focus is on the stories themselves. At the same time, you will find precious artwork every few pages that's sure to delight children.

Each story of the week contains a scripture reference, paraphrased story from that scripture reference, Today's Adventure section (I will touch up on this more in a minute), prayer, and a final take away thought to reflect on. The first story in the book begins with a story about Genesis and God's creation. The book then moves on to many of the more noteworthy stories from the Old and New Testament, with the final one ending in Acts.

My Bible Adventure Through God's Word also contains a few helpful extras to get little ones on their way to becoming little Bible scholars. In the back of the book you'll find a section that notes each book in the Old and New Testaments as they're listed in the Bible, selected verses from the Book of Proverbs, as well as the names of Jesus' 12 disciples. I appreciate the section that shares some of verses from Proverbs, because this is something that's not always introduced to young children in other Bible storybooks. Of course, these are wonderful gifts of wisdom on how we should think and lead our lives according to God's purpose. What better time to teach them then when children are really young!

I wanted to also touch up on the Today's Adventure section that accompanies each weekly study, because it's the highlight of the book. This section often gives a final reminder on the story that was just read, sometimes retelling it in different words. Towards the end of this section, there will sometimes be a final message to young readers that affirms the message of the story that they've just read.

Written by pastors and leaders in children's ministry, My Bible Adventure Through God's Word is a wonderful book to add to any children's library of devotional reads. The content is geared to children in the second grade range, but the text is engaging enough where younger children will enjoy it, too. My preschool age child loves when I read the stories to him. In doing so, I know that I'm helping to instill important Godly values that he'll be able to keep with him as he grows.

It sounds like a really nice devotional book to read at night with your kids. I like that it has different ways to make sure the child understands the story and the message of the story. It's geared toward a good age when kids are starting to understand more Biblical concepts.
