Springing Into Spring With Our Latest Reads from Parragon Books

Spring is officially upon us! Here in Upstate NY, the cold weather was having a difficult time saying goodbye, at least up until last week. I'm happy to say that we're finally getting in those milder days.   I love the springtime. Besides warm temperatures, the flowers begin to bud, the leaves grow back on the trees, and the grass turns green, again. It's also a precursor to the fun summer months that are soon to come!

This month we received our new shipment from Parragon Books, which has gotten us even more excited, because the theme is all about springtime reads! Our package came with a ton of great activity books. I always say that activity books are a great way to keep kids busy indoors during the colder months, but being able to enjoy them outside under the warm sunshine is even better!

Marshall Saves the Day is actually my son's first Paw Patrol book and I have to say that he just loves this one, and never gets tired of reading it. This story follows around Marshall, a courageous little Dalmatian who's set to win the Fastest Fire Pup Race. In the midst of the race, a situation arises and Marshall must choose between his eagerness to win or the call of duty. This is a really cute hard cover picture book with an added bonus, a nifty "PAWsome bag tag."

I've had the wonderful privilege of previously showcasing The World of Eric Carle Press Out and Play here on Our Everyday Harvest, and was excited to see another copy in our package, because we now have a new set of press outs to enjoy. For those who may not be familiar with Eric Carle, he's the author of the popular children's book, The Very Hungry Caterpillar. This book not only includes characters from the story, but many of Carle's other books, as well, including Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? This book conveniently comes with six crayons for coloring each press out and step by step directions on how to put them together. This is a very neat set for children who are interested in putting together paper crafts and for little fans of Eric Carle books.

Peppa Pig Little Piggy Puzzles is another great addition that was included in our new Parragon Books collection. This is a full-color book with over 40 super fun activities and games for kids of all ages. From mazes, to search and finds, this one has it all! We especially enjoyed the activities that offer a little learning fun like counting and matching. As an added bonus, Little Piggy Puzzles also comes with an adorable Peppa Pig straw. I thought this was super cute–I just may have to get myself one of these for my water tumbler.

As much as my son enjoyed all of the books in our new shipment, it was no surprise that he flocked to the Disney Pixar Awesome Adventures art book. If you're a regular reader on my blog, then you probably have read my many mentions of how much my son loves Dory and Nemo. He immediately flipped to the pages of his favorite sea creatures and kept himself occupied for a good while. This book doesn't just contain Dory and Nemo, but a ton of other Disney Pixar characters from many favorites like Inside Out, Cars, and Toy Story. Awesome Adventures is not just a coloring book, but a way for kids to stretch their creative skills by drawing and doodling. They can partake in many art activities, all while enjoying some of those super fun Disney stories.

Princesses and more Princesses, oh me, oh my!

Truth be told, I am surrounded by all males in my family, but I know that I have plenty of readers out there with girls. That's why I'm happy to also be sharing the following three treasures that are themed for the springtime season. These are absolutely perfect for the little princesses in your life. I would also like to add that they would make excellent Easter basket stuffers.

Springtime Wonder is a coloring book, sticker book, and activity book all in one. It includes many of the cherished Disney princess characters we all know and love, like Ariel, Belle, and Jasmine. Included are over 50 stickers, some that can be used to complete the activities. While a majority of the pages are in black and white, the beginning of the book contains about twelve full-color pages that allow you to use the included stickers to complete special scenes with the princesses.

Daffodils & Dances is another fun Disney princess themed activity and coloring book that conveniently comes with four crayons and over 30 full-color stickers for children to enjoy. The pages are sectioned off into mini stories about each princess and their preparations for spring. How fun!

Spring Sunshine is a full-color activity book that also includes over 40 stickers. While some of these stickers are just for fun, the other half are actually meant to be rewards for completing each activity. Once your child finishes one activity, there is a special area on the page where they can add in a reward sticker for their work. In case your child gets stumped on an activity, there is also a handy answer key in the back. My favorite aspect of this book is Belle's Beautiful Woodland, which is a cardstock press-out scene that can be put together, all with a pretty backdrop and paper Belle doll for imaginary playtime.

Parragon Books is at the forefront of publishing some pretty awesome activity books for children. Whether you are still waiting for the weather to get warm in your neck of the woods, or if you're already experiencing beautiful, mild weather, there's no time like springtime. What better way to get the little ones geared up for this time of the year than to enjoy a few great seasonal themed books and activities.

What a huge assortment of books! In a lot of those bundles you just get a couple of books, but with this one, you get a lot to work on! That's great! My son liked Paw Patrol also. My daughter used to love Princesses! Since I had 2 kids that were about 2 years apart, a bundle like this would've been nice because there's something for both of them to do. Too bad they're all grown up!

They do grow up so quickly, don't they? Parragon does have have a lot of great books for all ages. I am sure there a bunch of good ones that are perfect for your children's age group.

I recommend their Discovery series: https://www.parragon.com/products/childrens/discovery-kids/ and their Factivity books, which are really neat: https://www.parragon.com/products/factivity
