Lily's Driftwood Bay Season One DVD Review + GIVEAWAY

A few weeks ago, my son and I decided to take a break from schooling and sit down to watch our latest NCircle DVD at the time. As we sat together watching the trailers before the menu came up, we were immediately drawn into this one cartoon that was being featured. It had some of the most unique animation that I had seen in a long time. At that moment, I think I may have been even more intrigued by this cartoon than my son was. I remember thinking, "How adorable...we have to pick that one up." Fast forward today, and we're now the happy owners of this cartoon on DVD. It's called Lily's Driftwood Bay, and it is such a precious children's program full of imagination and important life lessons.

About Lily's Driftwood Bay:
Welcome to Lily's Driftwood Bay! Lily is six years old and lives with her dad and her best friend, who is a seagull named Gull, in a little hut on the beach. Across the way is Driftwood Bay, a special island that exists in Lily's imagination. Every day the sea washes up a new treasure which sparks Lily's imagination about what might be happening on Driftwood Bay. Join Lily and her friends, Salty Dog, Bull, Nonna, Hatsie, Wee Rabbit and Lord Stag as they sail to Driftwood Bay where wonderful adventures await! Along with each adventure is a valuable lesson learned in each story from learning to tell the truth to saying sorry to asking for help. Embark on new adventures with Lily and friends as they travel to Driftwood Bay!

As I had briefly mentioned above, the animation in this cartoon is really neat! Everything is in 2D, and the creators actually used various items that you would typically see washed up on the beach, in order to create some of the characters, objects, and background settings. For instance, one of the main characters, Captain Salty Dog,  has a nose that resembles a stone, as well as wooden pegs as arms. Some of the other characters are made up of sea shells, rope strands, or driftwood pieces.

Kids have such wild imaginations, they can think of the most amazing things by using the simplest items they find. That is really what Lily's Driftwood Bay is about. In each episode, Lily will find an object that washes up on the shore where she lives. The magic then happens as she is taken to the other side of the ocean to an imaginary island called Driftwood Bay. This is where she is able to meet and interact with her friends (which are all animals of some kind). As an episode progresses, there is some sort of dilemma that occurs, and ultimately a solution is figured out to fix it. Children will learn all about values like telling the truth, apologizing, and being helpful.

We've really been enjoying this precious cartoon. The DVD comes with two disks with fifty-two complete episodes. Throughout each one, we see Lily's imagination come to life with new events and circumstances. This is the kind of program that will definitely spark ideas in children for imaginary playtime moments. It also offers the perfect opportunity to teach little ones all about problem solving and positive values.

I'm happy to be offering a special giveaway opportunity! Enter for your chance to win Lily's Driftwood Bay, Season One on DVD.
