Thanking God...and Something That I Felt Compelled to Share

God is so good and forever faithful! Let's all take a moment out of each day to think about all of the ways that He loves and cares for us. Even in our most trying times, He is there, looking out for us and providing where and when needed. If you are in a season in your life when you feel like He isn't listening, rest assured He is. Cry out to Him...seek Him. Even though He already knows what's in each of our hearts, He is waiting to hear from us. Let us renew our hearts in the Holy Spirit and speak to Him directly in prayer, also being steadfast in our walk with Him.

Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!
 –2 Corinthians 9:15

I'm also going to go on to say, that I personally think that this is a pivotal moment for Christians everywhere. It is going to be a time of testing, not only in our personal relationship with the Lord, but in our outward relationship with others as we share the testimony of Jesus' sacrifice and His salvation. If you know people who may not know Jesus, please don't be discouraged to tell them the good news...it's so important that we share the message to those we know. Also, let's keep our eyes on the skies and the signs that God created.

And God said, “Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night. And let them be for signs and for seasons, and for days and years.
 Genesis 1:14

Other interesting facts that are definitely worth knowing:

Rosh Chodesh Elul: a time of repentance in preparation for the High Holy Days of Rosh Hashanah (begins at sundown on August 21, 2017):

Rosh Hashanah/Feast of Trumpets: Jewish New Year and day of judgment (begins at sundown on September 20, 2017):

Teshuvah (Teshuva): Atonement, repentance, and returning to the presence of God (40 days of Teshuvah...August 21, 2017 and ending on the Day of Atonement, September 29, 2017)

Our Pastor talked about this yesterday. He said we need to go out and be the light in the world, and just love on people, to show them there's a better way. He also encouraged us to follow Jesus' example and invite others to church to come to know Him.

That's wonderful, Brenda! He's right. Now, more than ever, it is so important to preach the Gospel and be an example.
