Matt Redman "Glory Song" Review + CD GIVEAWAY

There isn't a day that goes by here where we aren't glorifying the Lord, and one of the many ways in which we do so is through musical praise. Recently, we've been enjoying a wonderful collection of songs from Matt Redman's latest album, Glory Song. The name of this album couldn't be any more perfect–each song is about giving God all the praise and glory.

ABOUT GLORY SONG:
Matt Redman teamed up with several of his worship-artist friends for this album, first releasing the track “Gracefully Broken (feat. Tasha Cobbs Leonard).” Tasha Cobbs Leonard also released her own version of this song on the same day! The album also features Kierra Sheard, Guvna B, Madison Cunningham, and Kim Walker-Smith.

I've always been a fan of Matt Redman's music–some of my favorites from him are You Never Let Go and one of the top worship songs on my playlist is 10,000 Reasons (Bless the Lord). Having the chance to get a sneak peek of Glory Song was a pure joy, and we haven't stopped listening to this CD since we've received it.

I love that Redman teamed up with several other popular worship artists to put this album together, including Kierra Shear, Tasha Cobbs Leonard, and Guvna B. I was especially excited to hear Kim Walker-Smith's (from one of my favorites, Jesus Culture) voice in Track 10, Place of Praise, This is such a beautiful song. The harmony between the two singers is so powerful, especially during the chorus.

...If the highest praise is a sacrifice and the greatest song is to give my life. I will not bring that which costs me nothing.

GLORY SONG TRACK LIST:
  1. All Glory (feat. Kierra Sheard)
  2. Gospel Song (feat. Guvna B)
  3. Greatest Hallelujah
  4. Gracefully Broken (feat. Tasha Cobbs Leonard)
  5. One Day (When We All Get to Heaven)
  6. Redemption Ground (feat. Madison Cunningham)
  7. It Is Finished
  8. Questions (You Are Faithful)
  9. Still I Will Sing
  10. Place of Praise (feat. Kim Walker-Smith)
  11. Hope Is Marching On
  12. Simple Pursuit / Glory Song
  13. Your Ways

All Glory is the first track on the CD and is the perfect way to open up this powerful collection of praise and worship music.

All glory to the Father. All glory to the Son. All glory to the Spirit. The Spirit of our God. As it was in the beginning. And will be in the end. All glory to Your everlasting name.

Really, all of the tracks are so amazing, it's difficult to say that I like one more than the other. With that being said, there are a few that I tend to play on repeat. Gracefully Broken (featuring Tasha Cobbs Leonard) is definitely one of those songs. It's all about surrendering ourselves to God–giving our lives over to him, so that He can work amazing wonders in us through His grace.

Here I am, God. Arms wide open.
Pouring out my life. Gracefully broken.

Still I Will Sing was a fun song with a more upbeat rhythm. The song lyrics remind us to sing (speak) of God's glory and love for us, whether we are having a good season or a difficult one. We need to sing out to Him no matter where we are in our lives, because He is always there listening.

For the glory, the glory of God. Sing it with a passion...Sometimes it's a song of joy.
Sometimes a sacrifice. Sometimes it's an
easy choice. Sometimes it's a battle cry.

One of the reasons why I'm such a fan of Matt Redman is because you can really feel his love for God through his music. You can even hear the emotion in his voice while he's singing. This just radiates though my speakers and really speaks to my heart, matching my own emotions towards our Lord and Savior. It's nice to be able to sing along to these songs, knowing that I am dedicating them to my Father God.
