Are you familiar with Simple Skincare? They are a line of
skincare products that are said to have no dyes, artificial perfumes, or harsh
irritants. They are also labeled UK's
#1 facial skin care product, and have been recently made quite popular in the US market.
I recently had the opportunity to try out two Simple
Skincare Products, myself. The first product that I was able to try through the She Speaks: Walgreens Simple Skincare Program, was the Simple Hydrating Light
Moisturizer. I was really excited to try this product. Being
that it has no harsh chemicals or irritants, I did have high expectations for it, but unfortunately, it didn’t meet all of them. I found the Simple
Hydrating Light Moisturizer wasn’t as “light” as I thought it would be. Now,
this is just my opinion based on my own skin type which tends to be
combination, but on the more oily side.
It did, however, moisturize well, and it didn’t make me break out, which
is also a major PLUS!
There was one particular issue that I experienced with this
moisturizer. It had a weird tendency to produce a burning sensation on my face
upon application. It actually had me worried the first few times, but I didn’t
break out in any type of rash, so that was GOOD! It did baffle me, though, because
I thought the moisturizer would be on the gentler side. I know everybody’s skin
reacts to products differently. I am wondering if this would have made a better
hand lotion for me, rather than for the face.
Either way, I am glad that I had the chance to try it. If I
could recommend this to anyone, it would be to someone who doesn’t have
sensitive skin. That stinging feeling was a bit too much for me! I also felt as
though this product would better fit someone with normal skin, as opposed to
oily.
The second Simple Skincare product that I had the opportunity to try was the
Refreshing Face Wash Gel. This was a small sample that I received from the
CVS promotion that I had posted about back on March
10, 2012. Again, since it’s from the same line of products, it is free of
dyes and artificial perfumes. Unlike, the Hydrating Light Moisturizer, I had a
really good experience with this product. It gave my skin a nice clean feeling without
over drying or causing my face to breakout. The one thing that I really loved
about this face wash was that it did a great job at removing my eye makeup. I wouldn’t say that the Simple Skincare Refreshing Face Wash Gel provided any
type of cooling effect (the “Refreshing” label initially threw me off with
that), but it did have an overall light feeling and texture to it. All in all, I
liked this particular facial wash product and would probably purchase it.
Well there you have it folks…my experiences with two
separate Simple Skincare Facial Products. Again, the opinions I expressed,
above, are based solely on my own experience with both items. I am not telling
anyone to buy or not buy a product, but I always enjoy reading real feedback when I
am in the market for something, so I wanted to share my own experience for
those who may be interested.
Although I received a free product to try, courtesy of She Speaks and Simple Skincare, no other compensation was provided. The views and
opinions expressed here are purely those of my own. Please see my disclosure policy for further information.
