Love Letters from God Holy Bible by Glenys Nellist

In the early winter of 2015, I was introduced to a wonderful children's author named Glenys Nellist. Since then, my family and I have enjoyed many of her books. I've even had the privilege of previously showcasing three of them on my blog. One of her signature titles includes Love Letters From God.

Since 2014, Love Letters from God has become a highly rated book in children's ministry with different variations, including a board book version and even a Christmas themed one that's soon to be released. You can imagine my excitement when I learned that Glenys had also recently released a Love Letters from God Holy Bible. We were blessed to get a sneak peak of this new Bible, which is set to be released in the beginning of October 2016.

What if a child could read his or her own personal mail from God? The NIrV Love Letters from God Bible will invite kids to do just that! This full-text Bible in the New International Reader’s Version (NIrV) is a perfect way to introduce children to God’s Word and his great love. With 80 love letters from God written especially for the reader, children will see Bible stories and themes come to life and learn just how much they are loved by their Creator.

Coordinator of Children's Ministry for the West Michigan Conference of the United Methodist Church. Zondervan children's book author of two popular series: Love Letters from God and Snuggle Time. Glenys is a writer with a passion for God, her family, and children's ministry.

Introducing the word of God to my son is a top priority, and having a good child-friendly Bible on hand helps a great deal! The Love Letters from God Holy Bible comes in two versions a hardcover and one with an imitation leather cover. We personally received the hardcover version, which displays beautiful artwork done by Sophie Allsopp. The text is written in the easy to understand New International Reader's Version (NIrV) translation, which is perfect for just about anyone, but especially nice for young readers who are just beginning to read the Bible.

This Bible also includes a table of contents that separates the books in the Old and New Testaments, as well as an alphabetical list of each one. I especially like this list, because it makes searching for a particular book in the Bible extremely easy. There's also a dictionary in the back for words that younger children may not entirely understand, along with several blanks pages for note taking.

Children especially love reading popular Bible stories like Noah's Ark and David and Goliath. I appreciate that this one has a complete listing of "Great Bible Stories" included. Visual learners will also enjoy the many pages of full-color maps that track geographical locations such as where the Exodus took place and areas where Jesus had ministered.

Of course, this wouldn't be a Love Letters from God book without those special notes of adoration from the Lord! Included throughout the pages are 80 personal love letters from God. Each letter starts off with "Dear" and then a blank line in order for a child's name to be added. This gives it that extra personal touch. After each letter, a highlighted message is also shown that includes a verse for children to keep in their heart. After reading a letter from God, children may want to say something back and that's why Glenys has included a section with a prompt, so that kids can write their own love letter to God. Also included in the Love Letters from God Holy Bible are eight full-color pages that include additional helpful content, such as advice on getting to know Jesus and learning the Ten Commandments.

The Love Letters from God Holy Bible is a wonderful tool for any child's journey to discovering God. The added features make this Bible all the more special. Kids will not only read the word of God, but receive special messages of love that will further encourage them to continue to grow their relationship with the Lord.
