The Mind Connection by Joyce Meyer

A couple of weeks ago, I shared my thoughts on Joyce Meyer's new book, Seize the Day. I've been following Meyer's ministry for a long time and always look forward to what she has to say. Another one of her books that I've been recently reading The Mind Connection, is a follow-up to her best-selling Battlefield of the Mind (one of my personal favorites).

Thoughts can seem random and meaningless, but they impact your life every day. It's all connected. What you think affects your words, attitude, decisions, and emotions and influences how you relate to yourself, to other people, and to God. In THE MIND CONNECTION, Joyce Meyer expands on the wisdom of her bestselling books Battlefield of the Mind and Power Thoughts to explain how to improve the quality of your thoughts and your life.

Joyce Meyer is one of the world's leading practical Bible teachers. A #1 New York Times bestselling author, her books have helped millions of people find hope and restoration. Through Joyce Meyer Ministries, she teaches on a number of topics with a particular focus on the mind, mouth, moods and attitudes. Her candid communication style allows her to share openly and practically about her experiences so others can apply what she has learned to their lives.

The way we handle our mood and thoughts can make all the difference in the world. Of course life will throw us curve balls from time to time, so staying positive is sometimes easier said than done. In The Mind Connection, Joyce Meyer offers practical advice and passages from the Bible to help readers maintain a right-mind-set, no matter what heads our way.

The book is broken down into four separate sections:

  • How Your Thoughts Affect Your Outlook on Life
  • How Your Thoughts Affect the World Around You
  • How Your Thoughts Affect Your Physical and Emotional Health
  • How Your Thoughts Affect Your Walk With God.

Throughout each section are several chapters with topics such as Choosing Your Attitude, The Power of Perspective, Your Thoughts and Stress, and The Mind-Mouth Connection. One of my favorite chapters (among the many others) is called How to Think When Life Gets Difficult. This chapter really resonated with me. I tend to be a positive person, but there are still times in life when various circumstances can get the best of my mood. As positive as I try to be, I'm also a bit of a worrywart, so I really appreciated Joyce's heartfelt advice and recommendations on how to navigate during the not so easy times in our lives, while still keeping our joy.

This is the day God has made, and I am going to enjoy it.
I can handle whatever comes my way today through Christ who is my Strength...

Some folks may find that it's an uphill battle, trying to stay positive even in the most trying of times. The Mind Connection doesn't just remind readers to stay positive, it actually offers concrete guidance on how you can stay in control of your thoughts by choosing how to think, no matter what heads your way. I am actually debating if this book is my new favorite from Joyce. It's a fantastic read that I definitely recommend picking up.
