Bedtime Read and Rhyme Bible Stories by Bonnie Rickner Jensen

Yesterday, I shared a beautiful Bible storybook that offers kid-friendly adaptations of some of the most popular stories in the Bible. We've also been reading another new storybook, Bedtime Read and Rhyme Bible Stories, written for a similar age group in mind, however this one includes rhyming text that will also appeal to much younger children.

Send your little ones drifting off to sleep with Bedtime Read and Rhyme Bible Stories, full of over 90 whimsical, rhyming stories and beautiful illustrations of their favorite Bible characters!

She is the writer behind the bestselling Really Woolly® brand, with nearly 1 million books sold and an ECPA Gold Award–winning Really Woolly Bedtime Prayers. Bonnie has won a Retailer’s Choice Award for her book I Love You Head to Toe and also several Louie Awards for her work in the social expression industry. Her favorite inspirations are her grandchildren, running, and sunshine. She lives and works from her home in Cleveland, Ohio.

Bedtime Read and Rhyme Bible Stories is a thick, hardcover book that contains over ninety story adaptations from the Bible. Each story runs anywhere from one to three pages long, but the paragraphs are short, making it a nice collection of tales that can be read right before bed. At the same time, there is no particular nighttime theme used. This means it's suitable for reading pretty much anytime of the day. A yellow ribbon bookmark is also attached to the book, so that little readers can keep their place. There's even a table of contents that lists each story by the Old and New Testaments.

Bonnie Rickner Jensen has written several other precious children's books that we also own. We have become true fans of her work. I love the rhyming prose throughout this one. Books that include rhyming text are a favorite to read to my son since he really enjoys them. Plus, they do help young, growing minds with memory retention. (If you're also looking for a good Christmas read from the same author, I highly recommend checking out A Very Merry Christmas Prayer. We received this one last year and really enjoyed it).

Joseph worked hard
And his master could see,
Wherever he was
God's blessing would be!

The illustrations by Robert Dunn are absolutely beautiful! My son, being such a fan of Noah's Ark (and all those animals), just adores the cover. He also has fun flipping though the pages upon pages of colorful artwork.

From learning about God's creation to the coming of Jesus, little ones will delight in learning each Bible story included in this book. At the end of every story they will even have the opportunity to recite a short prayer that offers a reminder of our Lord's greatness. If you are looking for a Bible storybook with fun, rhyming prose, then I definitely recommend Bedtime Read and Rhyme Bible Stories. It would also make a precious gift for little ones during the holidays!
