Journey Through Lent with Devotions for Easter

While it's only January, I'm very much ready for Spring to be here. I'm also looking forward to the Easter holiday and celebration of Jesus' resurrection. One of the things that I have decided to do this year is dedicate a special Bible study during the Lent season. With only forty days left until Lent actually begins (March 1, 2017), I've been blessed with Devotions for Easter, a beautiful study resource that's perfect for the days leading up to the holiday.

Prepare your heart and mind to celebrate the risen Savior. It’s time for fresh spring blossoms, colored eggs, special recipes, and family gatherings. This year, with each tradition, small celebration, and new story, take the time to stop and discover the ways Jesus is showing His love for you. In remembering His Easter story—the greatest story ever told—your own will become that much sweeter.

Author, Stacy J. Edwards has done a wonderful job of putting together forty beautiful messages of hope and encouragement to guide us through the Lent period. Each day, is filled with a special reading, scripture, hymn, and gorgeous imagery to prepare our minds and hearts for Easter. Many of the readings offer practical messages by using everyday examples, memories, and parables to share the message of Jesus' sacrifice and the love of our Lord.

As I read this devotional, I not only feel uplifted, but also have a sense of peace and hope in my heart. I really enjoy the author's down to earth approach in her writing, while still maintaining the message of the gospel and Jesus' journey from dying on the cross to His ultimate resurrection.

In a few weeks, we'll be welcoming the Spring season. Flowers will be begin to bloom, grass will grow, and the leaves on the trees will return. When you think about it, you'll find how amazingly symbolic the season really is. Devotions for Easter is a wonderful resource to help prepare our minds and hearts as we welcome in this splendid time of renewal and regeneration, as well as the resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
