I Can Only Imagine Picture Book {Giveaway}

Pin It

We are huge MercyMe fans in our house and always have their tunes playing in shuffle mode on my MP3 player. If you've been following the recent news in Christian entertainment, then you probably already know that a new film had just been released. The title is based off of the band's hit song, I Can Only Imagine, and offers a portrayal of the life of lead singer, Bart Millard.

I Can Only Imagine is a song, that always makes me tear up whenever I listen to it. The lyrics reflect on what it may be like when we get to heaven and finally meet Jesus. It's a very emotional and powerful song.

I can only imagine what it will be like
When I walk, by your side.
I can only imagine what my eyes will see
When you face is before me
I can only imagine...

In addition to a new film based on his life, Bart Millard has also written a beautiful children's picture with the hit song title. I Can Only Imagine offers a heartwarming story about a little boy who goes about his days and nights wondering what life may be like in heaven and what kind of relationship he will have with God once he gets there.

ABOUT THE BOOK:
I Can Only Imagine asks questions a child might ask and invites families to wonder together: What is heaven like? What does God do? What would it be like to spend a day with Jesus? Children will see that although experiencing the glory of heaven may be far off, we can enjoy a friendship with Jesus every day - right here on earth. Whimsical, playful illustrations and thought-provoking questions make this a book that families will cherish.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Bart Millard is a founding member and lead singer of the multi-platinum selling contemporary Christian band MercyMe. He is married to his childhood sweetheart, Shannon. They reside in Franklin, TN along with their children Sam, Gracie, Charlie, Sophie and Miles.

This is a beautiful picture book with gorgeous, colorful illustrations by Sumiti Collina. We've been reading this almost everyday since we've received it. It really is a wonderful story that makes us smile each and every time. The protagonist has so many curiosities about what it may be like in heaven and how each day will be spent. As he ponders his many questions, he also stops to appreciate the beauty that God has given him in the present day. I like that the story not only focuses on what it may be like when we get to heaven, but also shares how we can appreciate what we have, right now.

The I Can Only Imagine children's picture book is just as endearing as the song. While we're all offered a glimpse of what heaven will be like according to Biblical accounts, there are other things we won't necessarily know until we get there. Children may have plenty of questions lined up in their head about what to expect. Will they sing in a choir? Will there be yummy treats like ice cream? Will they be able to have a pet? Does God like pancakes? Will there be sports? Nobody truly knows for sure, and until that day, we can all imagine what it may be like. At the same time, we are able to rejoice in the fact that we can enjoy the love of God and His wonders, right here, while we're still living on this Earth.

I think this would be a great book to have in the home for kiddos to read or have read to them. I think today Spring has really fully arrived where I live. I don't think our weather will be going back and forth between winter and spring anymore this year.

Awesome! We can't wait to watch it. It looks really good!

That's wonderful, Lauralee! We had a few warm days up here, and now it's cool and dreary, again. It's supposed to be like this for the rest of the week, but next week is going to be really nice. Hopefully it will stay that way! :-) Enjoy your Spring!
