Welcoming Spring and A New Children's Book to Celebrate Easter {Plus a GIVEAWAY}

Spring is here! Well actually, it officially began last month, but here in Upstate New York, we are finally getting a peek at some of the warmer spring weather. I can't tell you just how exciting this is after after a long, cold winter!

In a week, we will also be celebrating the resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, during the upcoming Easter holiday. It is a time of renewal–a time when God breathes new life into all that is around us. A few weeks ago, we welcomed in the season with a precious new book by author, Glenys Nellist, called Good News! It's Easter!

There’s new life to be found! The Easter season is an exciting time of growth and reflection as both nature and our human hearts anticipate the hope of new beginnings. Through playful illustrations in nature, best-selling and award-winning author Glenys Nellist introduces children to the gift of salvation. The whimsical rhyming stories ultimately lead to the rebirth of Christ who “steps free from the cave” to “live and love and save!”

Glenys Nellist was born and raised in a little village in northern England. Her stories and poems have been published in children’s magazines where her writing reflects a deep passion for bringing the Bible to life for young children. Glenys lives in Grand Rapids, Michigan, with her husband, David.

It is no secret, we are huge fans of Glenys Nellist's work, and already own quite a few of her beautiful children's books. We welcomed her newest creation with open arms, and it has been such a gift to read right before the Easter holiday. With the turn of each page, we were greeted with the good news of a happy tulip with fresh red petals blossoming, a newly hatched butterfly cheerfully spreading her wings to fly, and frogs celebrating their newfound freedom to leap into the air after being tadpoles for so long. Page after page, there are signs of all things new, encompassing the beauty of God's work at the beginning of the spring season.

Of course, no children's Easter book would be complete without the mention of why we celebrate this special holiday, and that is to honor the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Our favorite part of the book is when we turned the page to see Jesus stepping out of the cave to proclaim that he is back to love and save! Yes, this is the greatest news of all!

Along with sturdy board book pages that make this an age appropriate book for even the youngest of children, the vivid illustrations throughout are just precious. We couldn't help but smile as we turned each page and read about God's many wonders during this time of year.

Good News! It's Easter! is another children's masterpiece from Glenys Nellist. We feel blessed to have had the opportunity to add this lovely book to our collection of springtime reads. It would make a wonderful addition to any child's Easter basket, providing a precious reminder to little ones about the true reason for the Easter holiday.

Not only were we blessed with the opportunity to read Good News! It's Easter!, but Ms. Nellist and Discovery House have generously offered to supply an additional copy for me to give away! I will be randomly choosing one winner in this giveaway to receive Good News! It's Easter! To enter, please follow the giveaway prompts, below.

This giveaway is open to entrants in the Continental United States, Canada, and England. Please note, the winner may not receive their book until after the holiday.
